Rootshell, I really enjoyed the ride... but it's scary driving on the wrong side of the road like that :o
Tuesday 11th Feb.
* My headset arrived but I couldn't set it up so I'm sending it back.
* The plumber came to service the boiler but he has to come back as there could be an underground leak Β£ Β£ Β£
* You might have noticed I uploaded 2 songs thinking it was Proposal Day (Valentine thread) then looked back and found it was actually Promise Day so I had to quickly find something to fit that. I think I could find a song for every word anyone suggested ! Must test that theory sometime :) I think the theme tomorrow is 'Hug' I need one of those after the frustrating day I just had.

Saw my younger son on TV last night. He's ambassador for the Special Olympics 2025 as he won a couple of medals at the last Special Olympics World Games. He's so cool about it and just mentioned in passing that he was going to be on TV.
This remixing old tracks task is really turning into a time consuming business. But well worth it, even if only for myself.

-I have taken a short break from Wikiloops. I have enjoyed every song I finished, but mixing isn't fun anymore.
I admit that I cheated myself right away and recorded a new song. (I didn't mix it).
Maybe I'll use my break for something useful. Maybe I'll photograph a calendar of Finnish men in a sauna for Shamika.
-I liked Rootshell's video a lot. I like watching foreign places, for example I watch a lot of videos where people walk in Japan.
-I have been thinking, that maybe I should pay a more expensive membership to Wikiloops.
It would be fun to tell the people who play on the site, which songs have meant the most to me by making Wikiloops album.

I think that's a great idea. Do it. (And then work on the calender for Shamika ;))

This is such a good idea Nick, more folk should try it. I'd try it if I had a phone, knew how to post recordings and also.... if I drove of course :D I do worry that you might crash into something however. I don't know what they call what you're doing - a Road Vlog maybe ?
I used to watch James Corden's Carpool Karaoke, hey, you could do that if you can find some local celebs to be passengers :)
I can't really follow up with anything worthy of blogging myself. I'm just glad I don't have to make and post anymore stupid valentine songs, I'm adding a Kiss Day one just now and that's it. That thread idea went straight down the pan in my opinion :( The diary is also wearing a bit thin.... hmmm what next I wonder !
Here's something more interesting maybe

I also decided to post a short video here. There is no sound, but I wanted to show to Shamika, who dreamed of Finland, how depressing it is here. No palm trees and sun like in Rootshell's videos. π
Maybe tomorrow I'll take a picture of myself in the sauna so that Shamika's week won't be ruined because of depression π

Not much to see. The evenings are still really dark. π
Well, in a couple of months, the sun will shine around the clock.

Aito, I never thought there would be so many big shops with snow everywhere. I like a busy town centre but I don't like dark and snow so I'd have to visit when the daylight lasts longer.
* I'm having trouble with my memory today :( I don't know what I've posted, which lyrics I've used and which mixes I've saved and where they are now. I give songs different names, I use the same backing for more than one lyric. Obviously I'm adding too many songs but it's such a buzz isn't it, especially when you get nice feedback.
* I'm actually getting sick of hearing my own voice - the Mid England accent is not very nice really, it's flat, cold and naggy sounding, not soft and warm like French, Spanish, Italian etc and not like a US accent (can't find an adjective for that) I have found in the past that Americans quite like a female accent but not so much the British male (unless it's Scottish, Irish or Welsh). However certain styles of songs need different accents to suit them - example might be a Liverpool vocal. If I do comedy songs I usually go 'Cockney, London' or strong Yorkshire. Love songs have to be subtle and breathy... but that's hard to do with my little mic.
Right, it's time to eat, not sure what to have tonight but it won't be too adventurous. My diet is very samey.

Saturday 15th February
* I had to switch the radio off after my football team let 2 goals in right near the end, they'd played so well up to then but the Arsenal brought on a sub who finished it for us :(
* I wanted to add some footage to show people what my town was like, I couldn't do it myself (although I am working on that) but I found a great promotional vid (short) that tells you everything you need to know.
TeeGee might be interested in the Triumph Motorcycle Museum, rootshell and Aito might enjoy the bars :) and others might like the music, shops and chocolate :D. It was recorded 2 years ago but nothing has changed much, I was surprised so few people had watched and liked it on youtube. Here ya go :)

PS, that's the Lord Mayor of the town, not me :) but actually there is a similarity !

-Shamika. About 100,000 people live in Kuopio, so the city center is not lively here, but it is big enough that there are big shops in the center. π
Kuopio is among the ten biggest cities, so as I said, there is not much here, but still enough.
-Rootshell's way of pronounced Aito put a smile on my face. π Well, everything is bigger in America, even my name sounds bigger there. π
- Today we celebrate my wife's birthday. We watched a movie about a band called Impaled rectum and now we're drinking a few beers.
We don't usually drink a lot of alcohol, but this weekend is an exception. Our youngest son went to visit his older brother for the weekend, so it's just the two of us at home. π

Funny you should say that, my name is on the seat hump of the Taylormade Saxon Triumph that is exhibited in the national bike museum, yes its me in the picture on the day we handed the bike to the museum ;) . However I once owned a 1965 Triumph Thunderbird 650cc motorcycle, and I swore that I'll never own a Triumph again, and I went back to my favourite bike brand, BSA from Birmingham. Yes, I am a BSA man...

In our Triumph Museum there was the actual bike that Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape (a famous scene)
After finding your motorcycle thread again I had enough inspiration to write a song about your BSA 650 (1969) - hope I got it about right although I'm sure the engine sound is wrong :).
