I have neatened this thread and simplified it so you can still have your say (as long as you make it nice)
A chance to be recognized for whatever!
This is not an official wikiloops thing, it's not a competition, just a way to give your favorites a mention.

1) someone whose titles often draw you in out of curiosity.
2) someone who is always honest and observant about your work.
3) someone who plays different instruments or tackles different genres.
4) someone who can make you sound better than you are :)
5) someone who regularly posts on forum
6) someone who is always there to help with technical and logistical advice.
7) someone who attracts lots of remixes regularly.

In addition you can nominate in the following categories :-

A - loudest or fastest
B - most original or weird
C - most likely to make you cry
D - most likely to make you feel good
E - most lyrical

I don't know how to interpret this so I'll just clarify the point of the thread.

No, this is NOT a competition because there are no winners and losers and no prizes.
However certain members will stand out for their particular contributions to the site and I think they deserve a little recognition.

Pointing out members who have made a particular impact on yourself should not be a problem.
Choice will always be subjective and opinion is always personal.
People with particular skills and attributes should not slip under the radar so why not tell us who they are and why they impress YOU!

Every wikilooper is a winner for choosing to belong to a community that welcomes them, hears them and encourages them to see beyond the competitiveness of the music industry. A place that gives us all a chance to feel good about ourselves, meet like minded people and have somewhere safe and friendly to visit every day.

I do know however that some members enjoy joining in with new ideas and challenges that bring interest and fun into what can often be a feeling of isolation or boredom with the repetitiveness of life.

I completely agree with you! All Wikiloops enthusiasts are more interested in the pleasure of playing than in delivering a dazzling performance.
(Even if that can happen from time to time).
Those who enjoy rewards are quite happy with the thumbs-up system, it seems to me. Obviously, the longer you've been on Wikiloops, the more friendly your friends will be.

Totally Understand What Shamika was doing.. just a bit of fun... it's not ranking in order of brilliance because everyone who contributes on here is brilliant. It's just announcing certain strengths in different areas and recognition for contributions big and small.

Hello, it's my fault! It's true that I submitted the idea for a forum topic to Shamika (because she's the one who created this discussion page).
And she likes to keep the forum full of various topics (why not)? In my opinion, it should stay music-related.
My idea was: we play with various people, we post on WL, and it goes away (to oblivion), we don't talk about it anymore, or we create albums to remember it.
In these albums (duets, for example), can we highlight a musician?

And yes, why not get some recognition from some of the people I met here?
I thought this over a few days ago while gathering together all the tracks (duets) I had made with Mario GlezBass.
Since my arrival in 2017, I've gathered around forty tracks... what a pleasure to listen to some of the pieces again!
Maybe I'll make albums of them.

So yes, why not honor someone, but I didn't mention the categories: from 1 to 7 and from A to F.
That could become (discriminatory) categorizing, etc. It's a forum, everyone says what they think!
Shamika wanted to give some direction on the general topic by putting it into categories.
Well, it's not a big deal? I didn't mention Grammys or Oscars... here we're all musicians in different styles.
We play for fun!

Sorry that I brought up the "competition" keyword again - didn't know its trigger capability. And mentioning people and their special skills is no wrong thing to do, I myself love what some do here as my first album from 2018 had shown, or as my "Even more hit singles" playlist show until today...
