August diary

Weekend activity was fairly normal.
However I was reminded again that people are not afraid of Karma, and are willing to lie and cheat for a few extra $$ or €€. Basically I bought a car that was a non runner, for a fairly cheap price. I obviously suspected there is an issue with the motor, otherwise why would it be relative cheap. The guy was not poor, he has a nice house, and some bikes, so why lie about it? Especially as he knew I would find out... if he would have told me the truth it would have not changed the price, only saved me time., a lot of time :(
So now the motor has got to get out again.

So I was lying underneath the car, getting bolts out, disconnecting stuff when I got hydraulic oil dripping on my face. That's when I remembered why I studied motorcycle engineering many years ago, and not cars. Because bikes don't drip red dirty oil on your face!!! :o:@:|

I thought the Diary had 'had its day' but it refuses to die :D Thanks Wolfgang, now I have to find something interesting to say.

How about this ; Every day I search property websites to see what's new, I still can't sell my own house. However, I saw one recently that made me smile. It was empty except for the fact that EVERY room had a Guitar in it - no furniture, just a guitar. I wondered what the story was with that. There was even one in the bathroom ; it made me wonder if any wikiloopers play their guitar while sitting on the toilet :D ?

Reading the word "diarrhea" (well done for spelling that TeeGee) reminded me how we used to jokingly say,
"If Dire Straits and Chris Rea formed a band they'd have to call it Dire/Rea.

Of course Chris died last December so no more jokes. Co-incedentally however his most successful work came in the Shamrock DIARIES Album WOW!

Lol I wonder what other funny combination between bands and artists could be made, not necessarily bog related. They would merge and make a new band.

Last night I couldn't sleep, I had a migraine. I needed some fresh air.
It was 2am, no-one around so I went into the front garden and sat on a wooden seat.
A few deep breaths and I felt the tension fall away.

It was so peaceful, just the sound of wild life in the bushes and trees.
A curious cat came close and looked up at me, I reached to stroke it but it ran away. The Moon was really bright and looking down on me... although I couldn't reach that, I felt as if I had somehow because I was all alone in a beautiful environment I rarely saw. 6 steps from my front door but I felt far, far away from civilisation :)
I didn't bother going back to bed because the experience left me feeling poetically aroused :D

Aw, that was lovely TeeGee, and just like Shamika, an old romantic, funny and a bit of a Moonatic!

If anyone is interested, next Wednesday evening, 12 August 2026, up to 96% of the Sun will be covered by a new Moon (partial eclispe) Then a few hours later, the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak in moonless skies. You may hear me and the cat howling :)

There are still a couple of weeks left until I play live for the first time. Even though it’s just a small private party, I have to admit I’m already about to shit my pants because I’m so nervous.

Well, there is some good news, too. I don’t own a proper DI pedal, but I’m borrowing one. I’ve been practicing with the world’s cheapest pedal (which I call "the potato"), but for the gig, I’ll be playing with a borrowed Darkglass Anagram. I’m really excited!

The gig was actually supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago, but it got cancelled due to bad weather. Well, this time we’re playing indoors, so my bass is going to rumble—whether the audience likes it or not 😁

By the way, sorry I haven't been making music Wikiloops. I'll be back soon. I've been dizzy all the time, but it's starting to ease now. I've been fine for two weeks now.

Or actually, I'm not really sure. Today I was sure Ozzy Osbourne's face was staring at me from my carpet. I decided to stop playing at that point and think about what it meant. Does Ozzy think I'm ready to rock, or does he hope that I burn my bass guitar? 😂

I was looking at the Shoutbox where every day we are encouraged to take refreshment from the trolley. I wondered if certain beverages worked better for certain music.

Is coffee better for playing adrenaline fuelled Rock?
Will tea help you produce clean, wholesome music?
What about fizzy beverages, are they more suited to Pop?
Wine probably helps the more seductive and sensual music maker.
Spirits will bring more truth to lyrics!

I am not sure there is much room for more beverages. Hmm I might need to redesign the trolley. Larger, more powerful, faster.

-So for blue grass and hillbilly we need Moonshine yeehaaa

-For Wurzels type Cornish and/or Celtic type music Cyder would be needed.

-For proper Delta blues you would need Canned Heat or Gin, unless you are going for a John Lee Hooker type track in which case you need one Bourbon, one Scotch and one Beer

-for Bebop Jazz you would need Bathtub Gin

-For modern type pop you just need a lot of fizzy energy drinks

I can't believe what happened, yesterday I was putting on my sock and when I pulled it up in my usual energetic manner, the sock got stuck, but my hand went up with the enertia and nail of the middle finger got caught in the sock and split, a big chunk, too :o:|:( . WTF!!! Regardless of the pain, now I am going to have to put a band aid on my finger for a while. It does not hurt anymore, but dammit!!
