Latent Duffusion Jam Contribution
I added Gilmouresque guitar leads to Dan's epic jam journey. Thanks for the super fun Jam Dan! Whew...that was a long one! My first jam here was with one of Dan's cool templates. It's only fitting that #100 be one of Dan's again. Thank you for the inspiration my friend!

Thanks Chris! I'm just now listening to the other remixes of this. I downloaded Dan's template right away so I didn't listen to other remixes until I had a chance to get to it that way I don't inadvertently play riffs someone already played. :D:D

Mine too. Have you ever listened to Steve Rothery of Marillion? Solos on songs like "Easter" (1990) are very Gilmourish. https://youtu.be/pFQLAnAcrDc

No, I never heard that. I just listened. Yup, that's the recipe. Any rock ballad with a repeating chord progression that supports a melody is a musician's playground. :D

The history and music Marillion has put out is astounding. Investigate some of their songs, really great craftsmanship in them.

these slow tracks are always a challenge, i always struggle with the approach. this is perfect Ron, great spacing, patterns, emotion...the good stuff! <3:W

Thanks Nick. I like the slow moody one's and this has patterns to follow so it's manageable. The slow ethereal templates are tougher because there is less to tie a melody to. It's the nearly 9 minute length that's challenging. There probably won't be too many people listening to this all the way through. :D:D

I have to say I did imagine Gilmour-style guitar with this and this is exactly the sound I was thinking of. This track really is just a canvas for people to fly off - and fly you do! Beautiful. <3

Thanks Joe. :) When I joined 18 months ago one of the first things I noticed was high track numbers many of the members here have and thought that will take me a lifetime to get to. Now I realize I'm on the slippery slope to 700. :D:D

I started with the free version, that lasted about 3 days. When i met Marcello and Rootshell, that changed everything for me. I was working from home and knocking out 5-10 songs a day for a while. It became an addiction, then a growth process and in the long run, it's benefitted me as a player more than I can explain to people. It's pretty enriching for the soul too, to know you aren't the only person in the world who just wants to write music. Wikiloops is, hands down, the best website for musicians ever created.
