Just curious as to everyones favorite strings.

Acoustic-Blue Steel or else Ernie Ball Earthwoods.

Guitar - Elixir Nanoweb (9s on my PRS and 10's on my 335 Dot), Good old Ernie Ball Slinkys, I really like the new Daddario NYXL sets...super smooth and made to emphasize mids.

Bass- DR Lo Rider Nickles are #1 for me.Growly and Punchy. DR Sunbeams for fretless , also DR Pure Blues.Used to love Rotosounds but I am all nickle bass string now.

Rotosound 0.40-100 stainless steel. IMO the best ones for my tastes.

When I can afford them I like the Optima Gold strings. Otherwise Elixir exclusively.
D'Addario Pro-Arte for the nylons.

Used the Swing 66 sets for years.Great string but my style has changed. If in a pinch...DR Lo Rider Stainless are the closet Ive found to them.

I havent tried the Optimas. Ive seen them just never put a set on. Ill try that next round based on your recommendation. I love the Nanos but the Polys are a little too coated. I feel like the string is coated in vaseline or oily when i touch them. The coating just kind of throws me off. The Elixir acoustic strings are great as well. Forgot to mention them. If you like D'Addario, they have a new set called NYXL which is tweaked for midrange. You can still turn out soaring leads but they are meant for SteelyDan/Walter Becker studio players.Very smooth overall.

If you are not fond of the Polys then you might not like the Optima gold as they have a similar feel in my opinion.

Totally agree! . Okay, just because of its high price I can't keep a set in each of my 6 bass instrumets !! he he
Regardless of quality, each bass and each style requires a different game or type (round or flatwound), but the Thomastik are excellent strings
I like ErnieBall and Daddario because of their value for quality/money
:D:)
