Of course we must carry on. We have 'up' days and 'down' days ... and days where we're just in a daze... but this is a place to share your moments, music and memories.... your doings, doubts and distractions.

Don't just talk to us in the little SHOUT box, get over here, there's no limit to what you can see or show :)

While I'm here perhaps I can explain (if you don't know) how to add wikiloops song links, youtubes and images to your Diary posts. The secret is in those 4 tiny icons you see next to the post you're writing. The smilies are easy :)

1) To put a wikiloops song in a forum thread - click on the 'wiki box' and a larger box pops up - just add the number of the track (no need for a #)

2) It's the same with a youtube link - you copy the youtube URL in the pop up box.

3) To add images from the web generally you can copy the image address from the picture options.

4) To add an image from your own files - click on Choose File (in a box below the icons)

I'm not very good at understanding or explaining procedures - the more I do it the easier it gets. But If this is misleading (or wrong) maybe someone could step in and make it clearer :).

The words of Navota quoted and xferred to November Daze (taken from the October Diary)

"For me it would be a very special month And it's the result of buying my first native american style flute in 2013. After 40 year spending my vacation on a childern's Holiday camp. This year I'm invited to go to America and visited some flute festivals and admaire nature. I Met someone on facebook who playes the flute. I met her already twice in Holland. Now I'm going to join her on an 18 day trip. Even gone join a flute contest in Melborn Florida and go to an other festival near Houston. As my flute brought my to met people in Begium,to the Wikiloops meeting now it bring my to the place the first one was made. I'm bit nervous because never traveled that far. So my flutes are packed and warm clothes for cold nights at the campsite. I Finely can play my flutes in the montains wonder how it sounds."

We wish you well Navota <3

that's so cool Navota :W best wishes!

not much planned for November for me. typical Thanksgiving, usually two gatherings, one with my immediate family and siblings, and then another with extended family.

yesterday we had a small amount of trick-or-treating, but now I have a huge bowl of candy I have to try and stay out of :o and the pumpkin / jack-o'-lantern got tossed out as well.

Sunday Morning and I found myself listening to a song I produced in 2012 (when the loops started I think) At first I thought it was too long and slow to upload but I had a strong urge to air it again. It was called "Mr Quagmire" and as soon as I logged in I saw a rootshell overnight mix that he's called "Mr Watts"

Now is that a co-incidence or are we both getting vibes from the same Muse.

it's some wikiloops wavelength. I wasn't even going to name my track Mr. Watts, it was going to be something math-related, then at the last minute, it just popped in my head to call it Mr. Watts :o

The best part of last week was when I really enjoyed playing bass with the band. We played Lady in Black and a couple of Finnish rock songs. I really felt alive when I played loud for once. Uriah Heep is a hard rock band, I had to show it to the others who played quietly. 😁

That was the first time the bass felt like it was playing by itself. I just felt the energy flowing through me, making the amp play music that I enjoyed. It was an amazing feeling!:W

Woohoo Aito, good for you. Rock on :W :W

Came on wanting to start the November diary, saw that you guys have been busy, well done!

:-- Navota dear, have fun on your trip, it's never too late to explore. wish you have a great time with like minded flute players. Send us some pictures of your trip if you can :) :--

Yesterday was our 34th wedding anniversary, I dressed up nicely, put on my (only) fancy China trousers that I usually only wear to weddings and special occasions, and my bespoke blue shirt made of cotton Bamboo by my Vietnamese tailor. (Mrs. Gee obviously always dresses up nicely even when going to the supermarket). We went to a Varieté show with food and drink, it was nice. Some very good acrobatic performances, the funny stuff in between was not as good as some we have seen in the past. Normally on these shows you expect a transvestite or a cross dresser and outrageous costumes to do a few songs but this one did not have it. But I enjoyed it anyways.

Monday. One of the reasons I like reading Diary entries is that I can live vicariously through people who do things I don't get to do these days.
For instance, I get to enjoy a variety show, dress up and have a meal out. I get to play bass as part of a band. I get to see family, eat candy and I can go on a long 'Fluting' vacation.... and all in my imagination.
No, I don't get out much or do any socialising lately, I know I should make the effort.... but it's too much effort :(

On a different topic - the cheap headset I've been using to record vocals, finally fell apart yesterday. I went through all my old gear (stored in a bin bag) it was all c**p.
I found some headphones that were fine for playback but no good for recording. There's no music shop locally so I have to buy in supermarkets or risk ordering online - the last two I bought had to be returned as I couldn't get them working. I'm amazed that I manage to do any music stuff now. I've already started to dig out tracks I produced up to 20 years ago. Maybe I'll just be a listener or write lyrics for someone else :)

One day I made the decision to get the bass stack I dreamed of at age 16, that thing you saw on stage with Cliff Burton in Metallica - a bottom Hartke 15 w/2x10's and a specific bass head, etc etc etc. I've had it for a good three years - sold the entire thing yesterday just to get it out of my studio, it took up too much space. Live, I have a Boss wireless pair of plugs, I don't even bring an amp anymore - it only made sense. Spend a lifetime waiting for that dream amp - end up running direct everywhere I play - a bit of irony I guess, but I'm far too old to be dragging amps around. That's my November 1st diary.

A Good Start to November.....

1. Los Angeles Dodgers one of my two adopted baseball teams here in California won the world series and are looking to three-peat in 2026.

2. My lifelong favorite football team in East London, West Ham United, won their second game of the season putting them closer to moving out of the relegation zone at the bottom of the Premier League, and....

3. I passed the 2500 uploads mark here on Wikiloops. I'm estimating at the same pace I should hit 5,000 in the year 2032 :o:W:)

Haven`t uploaded anything in quite a while but been busy nonetheless.

Started a strict regime of daily piano and bass practice. Limp wrists and bleeding fingers but it`s slowly getting better. After practice I fool around jamming to wikiloops tracks and working on mixing skills. That`s 2-3 hours every night.

Last week I started work on pulling together some symphonic ideas I had laying around as draft sketches. I think I`ve got the overall structure in place but mapping all the instruments and sounds I`m going to use will definately exceed what my machine can handle, so I`ve decided to take the leap to change from windows to a mac studio machine.

Went to the final Hamburg musicians fleemarket of the year on sunday, mostly guitars on offer but I did pick up an expression pedal for the Yamaha synth. While I was there, someone wheeled in a Marshall stack from the early 70s. Didn`t get a chance to look at it properly as it was sold before it even reached the sales room.

Congrats to bluvation on West Hams success - now they`re only 18 points behind the best team in the world.

Today I sparred lightly in fitness boxing. This was only my third time in the ring, so I'm really bad.

Also, I'm way too nice. I feel uncomfortable when I punch another person. Luckily, I'm bad at boxing, so I wouldn't hit my opponent even if I tried. 😁

I bought a DC brushless motor for my lathe on Aliexpress. Worked fine for 8 months, now it seems it's pffffft!!! So now I am in an interesting showdown with the supplier. With the help of AI and hopefully EU consumer laws I will get my money back. But Grok has been very helpful in getting the process started, he seems very confident that I will win :D
