Seal In A Manger
The third and final template which Girard requested. The reference track was pretty straightforward so I've done similarly. As usual, I just jammed it through using the beat ideas from the reference track. Tried to go for that late '70s dry kit sound so there's no reverb on the drums at all, hence no HD track being offered as that just seemed a waste of space.
Using my Premier Birch/Eucalyptus snare (with a Remo Fiberskyn 3 head on it) with a ...

I have a question Martin! How picky are drummers when it comes to drumsticks? I saw some at the music store and was wondering how you even choose!

I got through various sticks whilst I was learning, usually the popular 5A size, in my case the Zildjian ones because I like their logo.
It's down to personal choice, mostly. I use Vic Firth SD9 Drivers which are made of maple rather than the more common hickory. They're pretty beefy sticks but maple is very, very light which means I can use strong sticks but keep the weight down. They also have a very even weight distribution (most sticks, to me, feel tip-heavy which I hate).
I've been using them for 20 years or more now and am yet to find a stick that betters them for feel, weight and yet offering power when needed and strength.
As I said, each to their own but once you settle on a stick, it's hard to switch. +4

The basic answer is 'very picky'. To me it's like asking a guitarist to play someone else's guitar...

Another terrific drum run to play on! WOOT! Thanks Martin!
FYI, I never cared if you matched the "70's" kit or not, it was the beat style and cymbal work that mattered! Great job! +1

Thanks, G. Really enjoyable template to and a great exercise in restraint in not doing too many folks and crashes.
I wanted the '70s kit sound anyway as I'm still trying to work out how to achieve it as I love that sort of sound. +1
